|   | Q: What size is the Hydra Sweep? |   |
|   |
A:
The Hydra Sweep comes in two sizes 7", & 8" HD. The 7" sweeps have 10 gauge flighting and the 8" HD has 7 gauge cupped flighting. The sweeps come standard for 13' & 19' bins (main section 42" long and the extension is 32" long, plus drive shaft motor coupling and motor mount ) Canadian version.
The US version is for 13' & 18' bins ( main section 42" long and the extension is 28" long plus drive shaft motor coupling and motor mount). |

|   | Q: What size should I order? |   |
|   |
A:
If you have a 7" or 8" auger you should order a 7" 35-B or 35-C right or left hand sweep.
If you have a 10" auger you should order a 8" 45-B or 45-C, right hand only. If you have 13' & 19' bins order the "CANADIAN" version. If you have 13' & 18' bins order the "US" version. Many farmers & truckers are now ordering the 8" Sweeps as they turn slower and last much longer than the 7". |
  |
|   | Q: What is the difference between a 35-B and a 35-C and also the 45-B and 45-C? |   |
|   |
A:
The "B" series comes complete with hydraulic motor and controls less hose for 13' & 19' bins with end of auger in centre of bin. "CANADIAN" and 13' & 18' bins "US"
The "C" series is a change over sweep and comes less motor and controls. The motor coupling fits on a 1" shaft. |
  |
|   | Q: When or why should I order a left hand sweep? |   |
|   |
A:
The left hand sweep goes around the bin (looking in the door) from the right to the left side of the door. Some floor mounted aeration systems are put in on the left side of the door, for these systems a left hand sweep works much better than a right hand unit.
When ordering a 7" LH sweep please mark order LH otherwise a right hand unit will be shipped. |

|   | Q: How should I order extensions if I have bins larger than 18' or 19'? |   |
|   | A: If you have 21' bins you will need an 18" extension "US or 12" "CANADIAN". If you have some 21' bins and some 24' bins you will need two 18" extensions "US" or one 12" and one 18" "CANADIAN". If you have open storage or large flat floor storage order to suite your needs. We don't recommend using more than two 4' extensions on any of our sweeps. |   |
|   | Q: How should I size a sweep for centre unload bins? |   |
|   |
A:
The motor takes up 10" and you should allow 4" clearance from end of auger to bin wall.
If you have a 27' bin divide by 2 = 13.5' = 162" less 14" for motor and clearance = 148" less 42" main shaft and 28" regular extension shaft (US) = 78" = 6.5' you would need one 5' extension and one 18" extension or one 5' extension and one 12" extension (CANADIAN). When hooking up extensions always put longest extension on motor and shortest one on the end. |

|   | Q: What propels the sweep? |   |
|   | A: The flighting drives on the floor and propels the sweep around the bin. There is no need to be in the bin most of the time as the sweep goes around by its self. When the sweep gets 3/4 of the way around the bin you should get in and scrape the grain in from the edge of the bin then push the sweep under the auger and clean up under the door. Once this is done reach over to the controls and shut off the sweep, pick it up by the handles and carry it around to the left side, restart the sweep and push it around the bin holding it down by the handles. There will only be a few kernels and a bit of dust left on the floor and about 10 bu. at the end of auger. |   |
|   | Q: How is the Hydra Sweep powered? |   |
|   |
A:
It can be run off one of our Power Packs either a belt drive unit running off the auger engine or a direct drive unit with a 6.5 air cooled engine. Please see our POWER PACK section. Or any source of hydraulic power that has 7 GPM and 1000 PSI.
It may also be run off our Mover unit as the Auger Mover has a built in set of plugs to run the sweep, and the same Power Pack as the auger mounted belt drive Power Packs. |
