Auger Mover FAQ Page

Q: Does the Auger Mover fit all augers ?
A: We have mounting brackets to fit all Sakundiak, Brandt, Farm King and J Series West Field Augers. Please specify the make and model of auger in the text box when ordering. Also please tell us the make and model of winch and make and model of engine and crankshaft size. If you have an auger other than the ones above we will need to know the following information:
  • Make and model of auger
  • Diameter and length of auger
  • Wheel tread ( center to center of tires)
  • Number of bolts in wheel
  • Spindle diameter where inner bearing fits
  • Make and model of winch and make and model of engine
  • The crank shaft diameter

Q: Can I move the Auger Mover to a different auger some time in the future if I purchase a different auger ?
  A: Yes ;
  • If you have a 7" auger now and go to an 8" (in the same make and length) all you have to buy is the auger tube clamp.
  • If you change makes of augers you will need to exchange the mover spindles.
  • If you go to a longer auger you may need to exchange the side frames.
  • We will exchange parts and charge you the cost of putting your used parts back into as good as new condition.

Q: How fast does the auger Mover move ?
A: From zero to as fast as you would normally walk,( infinite variable speed on all functions)

Q: Can I use a bin sweep on my Auger Mover ?
A: Yes there is a set of Pioneer type couplers on the Mover to plug a sweep into. The variable speed control on the mover also controls the speed of the sweep.

Q: How are the wheels driven ?
A: The hubs are driven with # 50 chain, off the hydraulic motor, there is a spring loaded "T" pin that goes through the wheel and the wheel hub then through the drive hub. To put the mover into transport simply pull the drive pin and give a 1/4 twist and the wheel is locked out of drive. When you want to move the auger again twist the pins 1/4 turn then let them go, push or pull the control lever and rotate the hubs until the pins pop in and away you go.
